Media Review: Whiskey Words and a Shovel 2

R.H Sin's 2016 poetry follow-up to Whiskey Words and a Shovel was a great addition to his writing portfolio. From short little sentences such as: "Be careful who you make your memories with," to longer poems such as She Is You 3, which takes up three pages the words written make you think about your own life in relation to his words. All 164 pages not only take you on the journey through his relationships but it will make you remember all of yours. His words are straight to the point but just vague enough to be art. This is a great book for a flight or long road trip, just don't be the one driving, but to truly appreciate any book of poetry it must be read a few times to grasp everything. I give this a 8/10. It has a very minimalist cover that I like. However, if you go the writers Instagram he is selling the books for $10 were I paid $16 when I bought it from Barnes and Nobles so that was a little off setting to me.

13 Hours Review

Director Michael Bay's 2016 film 13 Hours is the story of the September 2012 attack on American compounds in Benghazi, Libya. The film follows a security team that is stationed in Benghazi to protect the C.I.A. members stationed in a covert base. During the course of there stay a new U.S ambassador, played by Matt Letscher,  is stationed in Benghazi and the security team now is split between protecting the C.I.A and the ambassador.
The movie relies heavily on pathos by showing us the families of the security team, from children to wives and even a dog, this movie wants an emotional response. However, this film doesn't want us just to cry or get angry it also wants the audience to understand what exactly happen in Benghazi during those 13 hours in 2012, and at that is succeeds. If you have not seen this film not only do I highly recommend it I believe it is your patriotic duty to do so.

Introduction.

Hello my name is Kolby and I am in my final semester at Frederick Community College. After F.C.C. I want to transfer to Wilson College to pursue a double major in Creative Writing and Communications. I took this class because after school I want to become a journalist so understanding electronic media would be helpful. After being in the field of journalism for a few years I would want to open up a restaurant and teach college part time.

When I am not in school or working I enjoy reading, writing, watching Netflix and playing with my dog, Mason. I read just about everything from poetry to masters thesis on humans originating from outer space. Because I read everything I also write everything. I have written a musical, short stories, poetry and a tv script, none of which has been published it was all just for fun.

That is who I am and, I look forward to learning more about all of you.
